boots around town

The Bonifay Kiwanis Club has annually produced the Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo for 80 years which brings in 20,000 plus Rodeo fans and visitors to Holmes County for this legacy three-day Rodeo each year.

In 2023, the Bonifay Kiwanis Club introduced a captivating addition for visitors attending the rodeo, a striking twelve-foot sculpture featuring iconic rodeo elements: boots, hats, and rope, known as “Boots Around Town,” prominently displayed at Memorial Field—the historic venue of the historic Northwest Florida Championship Rodeo. In addition to the twelve-foot feature sculpture, five six-foot statues were installed around town. These sculptures feature paintings by local artists, Brandi Jordan and Kate Bush Steele, based on the sponsor’s requests.

The marketing of these sculptures is similar to other communities like Dothan, Alabama – with their Peanuts, Enterprise, Alabama – with their boll weevils, or Panama City, Florida — with their “Sea Life” (Dolphin & Sea Turtles) who use these statues as a marketing technique to trademark their brand and identity that will create social events with Facebook & Instagram – with photo opportunities using #bootsaroundtown #holmescounty #nwfcr2024 #prca #bonifayrodeo and numerous others.

The Bonifay Kiwanis Club will be installing additional boot sculptures around town this year; So don’t miss out! Have you reserved your boot today?
